As the transfer window heads into July, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham remain among the busiest clubs of the summer so far. The Gunners are still working out a final deal for Declan Rice, and are also close to sealing a £40m deal for Jurrien Timber, who also signed Kai Havertz this week.
Chelsea and Manchester United have finally agreed a £60m deal for Mason Mount, who will now undergo a medical. The Blues will waste no time signing replacement midfielders, and want Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga. United hope to follow Mount’s arrival with a deal for Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Tottenham have already spent more than £80m this summer, most recently signing James Maddison, and are now looking to strengthen their defense with Edmond Tapsoba, Micky van de Ven and Gleison Bremer of interest. They are also reportedly working on signing a player whose name remains a secret, while Harry Kane is set to hold talks over his future as Bayern prepare a second bid. Spurs could sign Tapsoba and Van de Ven
Tottenham have made Edmond Tapsoba their top target for the defence.
According to Football.London, Bayer Leverkusen want around £35million for their player.
Spurs will return to Micky van de Ven as a cheaper alternative if they cannot agree a deal for Tapsoba.
But Spurs are likely to sign both, while Clement Lenglet remains an option.
Chelsea gave Osimhen a hard time
Chelsea have been told Victor Osimhen has ruled out a move to Stamford Bridge but is open to joining Manchester United.
The Napoli forward was heavily linked with a big summer move after scoring 31 goals in 39 games last season, winning Serie A and reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League in the process.
Chelsea have been linked with Osimhen while United are also reportedly keen to end their interest in Harry Kane
“He doesn’t go to Liverpool or Chelsea because they don’t play in the Champions League,” said former Napoli and Italy midfielder Salvatore Bagni.
“Of all the teams associated with him, for me, he will only go to Manchester United and Real Madrid. He is not interested in other teams.”

Contract D-Day
Today is a big day in the football calendar as contracts expire on June 30.
Some of the biggest names who have yet to agree an extension to their current deals are David De Gea at Manchester United and Wilfried Zaha at Crystal Palace.
Will we see a last-minute deal or will the pair start the weekend without work?
There is no agreement on the Rice deal
More delays in Arsenal’s deal to sign Declan Rice.
The BBC reported today that there is still no agreement on payment terms after two days of negotiations.
Standard Sport understands West Ham want to pay the fee over two years while the Gunners are pushing for it over four years.
The talks are ongoing.
Ziyech failed the Al-Nassr medical
Uh oh Chelsea could be back for the first time in their attempts to sell Hakim Ziyech.
According to Foot Mercato, Saudi side Al-Nassr are concerned with a knee problem that was identified during the player’s medical and now the deal is in jeopardy.
Ziyech was expected to complete an £8m move to join Cristiano Ronaldo but now the move could be ruled out.
PSG identified the same problem in January but made further attempts to complete the deal, which ended up falling through as the deadline passed.
Spurs are working on secret signings
This is an interesting one.
According to reports, Tottenham are working on signing a player whose name currently remains a secret.
Spurs have been linked in all sorts, as they are every summer, but the name of this target, it is said, has still not been leaked or mentioned in the media.
One to watch out for.
Rice delayed at Arsenal
West Ham and Arsenal are still unable to agree a payment structure for Declan Rice’s £105million move, delaying the entire deal.
That’s according to the Sun, which reports that the expectation is that a compromise has been reached but 36 hours after an agreement in principle was reached there remain issues to be sorted out.
Rice is currently on vacation, so any medicals will likely have to wait until next week, but both clubs remain hard at work to get a deal done.
ICYMI: Liverpool could be priced out of Nicolo Barella’s move
While the signing of Alexis Mac Allister is a start, Liverpool certainly need more in the way of midfield additions to bounce back from a disappointing campaign.
Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella continues to be linked with a move to Anfield but there is a problem.
According to The Times, the Serie A giants will demand more than the £52m Newcastle are paying to sign Sandro Tonali, thereby pricing the Reds out of a move.
ICYMI: Ethan Nwaneri signs new Arsenal contract
Ethan Nwaneri has committed his future to Arsenal.
That’s according to Athletic, who report that the 16-year-old has signed scholarship forms with Arsenal and agreed a professional deal for his 17-year-old in March 2024.
The Arsenal fan has never had any intention of leaving despite interest from Chelsea.
ICYMI: Harry Kane set for Tottenham contract talks
Harry Kane will discuss his future with Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou on his return from holiday.
Football.London reports that talks are scheduled as the player enters the final year of his contract.
Bayern Munich have already seen one bid rejected and are preparing a second.
Spurs have no intention of selling a player expected to be their captain this summer.
